Biography

Denise Taliaferro Baszile has been a professor in the Department of Educational Leadership at Miami University since 2002. As of 2015, she also serves as Associate Dean for Student Services and Diversity in the College of Education, Health, and Society. She holds a B.A. in Communication Studies from the University of California at Los Angeles (1990), M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from Louisiana State University (1996), and a Ph.D. in Curriculum Instruction from Louisiana State University (1996). According to her faculty biography, “her research focuses on understanding curriculum as racial/gendered text with an emphasis on disrupting traditional modes of knowledge production, validation and representation.”
